While thus there is a Idea Section, this is for those who might not know this.
The Media Center was a digital video recorder and media player created by Microsoft. It was essentially a way to browse your videos, images, music all on your laptop to your TV!
Windows Media Center, orignally came out in 2002, a year after Windows XP. It was planned to be a successor to the cancelled Activity Centers from the Windows Neptune and Windows ME prototype which got constantly removed and replaced for Windows XP
The release of Media Center to the public was in 2003 with the release of Windows Media Center 2004 for Windows XP or better known as: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
It introduced a bunch of features, the main attaction was Windows Media Center. As decribed above, it was used for that fuction. It even has a mini intro theme! There is a video embedded below to show how this worked!
Windows Vista brought the real introduction to Windows Media Center as only a few of Windows XP Media Center
Edition 2005 were released in rare sessions. Unlike Windows XP which didn't have Media Center ingrained, Windows
Vista, released in 2007, had Windows Media Center from the get go! It allowed you to share videos, pictures, and
music between your comptuer, and though your Microsoft Console, aka. Xbox 360.
Unfortunately I don't have a working Xbox 360 so a live example, but a video is provided on what it would
look like in Windows Vista (Home Premium)
